Engineering leadership: teams, decisions and delivery
What leading engineering has looked like in practice — CTO, head of engineering, engineering manager and CPTO roles — with the case studies and the way I work with teams.
Most of the leadership work that mattered in these roles was deciding what not to do: cutting an MVP to what it needs, splitting a platform so a team can actually own it, choosing a process the team will keep using after the person who introduced it has gone.
I have built a team from scratch as CTO at Lun Startup Studio, delivered an MVP and a codebase migration as Head of Engineering at Rize.gg, led delivery of government and private-sector platforms at Queen Tech Solutions, split a platform into independently ownable products at ID8 Media, and led engineering across several ventures at once as CPTO at One Studio.
