# I Built My Own 3D Printer From a Kit

Ready-made 3D printers cost a lot more, so I got a kit and put one together by hand.

<!-- PRICE: unresolved, this is the only price line in the article. Change it here and in the Arabic version. -->
**The price:** under $200.

## What this machine does

It takes a plastic thread, melts it, and stacks it layer by layer, until it's a real object you can hold in your hand.

## Why a kit

A kit came out much cheaper than a ready-made printer. The orange parts you see in the video came printed with the kit. All the wires run to an Arduino Mega, the brain of the printer.

## A week of work

It took me about a week of work to get it running. The hardest parts were three things:

- The filament, the plastic thread the printer melts.
- The temperature.
- Calibrating the axes.

And now it prints.

What do you want to see in detail? Tell me in the comments on the video.
